Useful information

Airports The nearest airport to San Eugenio is Tenerife South (Reina Sofa Airport). The international airport code is TFS. This is a modern airport, with a good number of "duty-free" and souvenier shops, restaurants and bars. You'll also find some familiar fast-food outlets, including a Cafe Ritazza, Upper Crust bakery and a branch of Burger King - so there's plenty to keep the kids occupied whilst you wait for your flight.
Weather Tenerife has been dubbed the island of eternal spring - the weather is generally fine and sunny all year round, though there is some variation between the North and the South of the island. Here in San Eugenio (in the South of Tenerife) we enjoy the best weather the island has to offer. The minimum and maximum annual average air temperatures in Tenerife are about 16C in winter and 28C in summer. It can feel cooler, owing to the refreshing breeze, so don't be fooled and apply plenty of sun-cream, especially to the kids!
Medicines Remember to pack supplies of any prescription medicines. Late-opening pharmacies are available in San Eugenio within convenient walking-distance but you'll require a Spanish doctor's prescription for non-retail medicines.
Doctor Should you require the attention of a Doctor during your stay please advise us and we'll direct you to the surgery or summon a doctor on call as necessary. The Canary Islands are part of the 'E111' scheme, however this is no substitute for proper travel insurance, which is highly recommended.

Oasis San Eugenio

Dentists There are a number of excellent dental surgeries on the Island, nearby in San Eugenio central and Los Cristianos In fact, Tenerife is developing a reputation for 'dental tourism' on a scale equal to Poland and Hungary - just with better weather!
Time-share As Oasis is a secure complex, you will not be bothered by time-share representatives by our pool. You may be approached in the street, perhaps with an offer of free breakfast or a competition prize. It would be wrong to say all time-share reps in Tenerife are toe-rags but as most of them are you're probably better off giving them a wide berth and enjoying your holiday - if you are interested in time-share you can always do your research back at home and follow it up later.Think before you sign anything!.
Food Food is prepared in Tenerife to cleanliness standards similar to those in the UK. You should not experience 'the runs' unless you're extremely unlucky! We recommend a number of excellent restaurants here on the website, and locals are only too happy to recommend their favourites to you. Canarian potatoes are a specialty well loved by the Brits and must be tried! The local stores stock a wide selection, and within easy reach are large supermarkets, and even a branch of Iceland stocking all your favourites from home! (You might like to pack a jar of Marmite - as this is expensive in Tenerife, and a pack of Crumpets, as these are hard to get hold of fresh! We provide the toaster in your apartment, bon apetit!)
Water Tap water is perfectly safe to drink in Tenerife and indeed most ex-pats keep a Brita full of it in the fridge. That said, there is a slightly different taste than you are used to in the UK, and therefore most prefer to drink bottled water during their stay. We provide water in your fridge when you arrive, and its readily and cheaply available from supermarkets, the street across the road and the 'Toby' pub, directly beneath the front entrance.
